The AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) is a foundational-level certification offered by Amazon Web Services that validates a broad understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and generative AI concepts along with the AWS services that support them. It is one of the newest credentials in the AWS certification portfolio and reflects the rapid adoption of generative AI across enterprises that need a common vocabulary for the technology and a clear view of the responsible use of foundation models.

This certification is aimed at business analysts, IT support staff, marketing professionals, product and project managers, line-of-business managers, and sales professionals who interact with AI/ML solutions but do not necessarily build them. It is also a useful first step for technologists who want to move into AI engineering roles. AWS recommends up to six months of exposure to AI/ML technologies on AWS and a general familiarity with cloud computing concepts, but there are no formal prerequisites.

The AIF-C01 exam contains 65 questions, of which 50 are scored and 15 are unscored items that AWS uses for future exam research. Candidates have 90 minutes to complete the exam, which is offered in multiple formats including multiple choice, multiple response, ordering, matching, and case study. The passing score is 700 out of 1000 and the exam covers five domains: Fundamentals of AI and ML, Fundamentals of Generative AI, Applications of Foundation Models, Guidelines for Responsible AI, and Security, Compliance, and Governance for AI Solutions.

Practising with realistic mock questions is essential preparation for the AIF-C01 because the exam blends conceptual definitions with applied scenarios involving Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, Amazon SageMaker, and the wider AI service catalogue. Candidates who only skim marketing material often struggle with questions that require selecting the right inference parameter, deciding between fine-tuning and Retrieval Augmented Generation, or identifying which guardrail or bias detection capability fits a particular requirement. Repeated practice builds the pattern recognition needed to move quickly through the real exam.

These practice sets contain 500 unique exam-style questions spread across 25 sets and weighted to mirror the official domain percentages. Each question is accompanied by a detailed explanation that describes why the correct answer is right and why the other options are wrong, so you reinforce the underlying concept rather than memorising answers. The first set is completely free, giving you a low-risk way to gauge your readiness before you sit the real AIF-C01 exam.
