Free Kubernetes CKS Practice Exams

19 March 2026·2 min read·By Jacob

Free CKS practice exams help you prepare for the Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist certification, one of the most challenging credentials in the Kubernetes ecosystem. The CKS requires you to already hold a valid CKA, and it pushes deeper into security hardening, threat detection, and supply chain integrity. Practicing with realistic questions is essential to build the pattern recognition the exam demands.

What the CKS covers

The exam covers five domains: cluster setup, cluster hardening, system hardening, minimising microservice vulnerabilities, and supply chain security, plus runtime security and monitoring. The weighting shifts over time, but runtime security and cluster hardening consistently make up the largest portions.

What's in these practice exams

Our CKS practice questions are designed to test the security-specific knowledge you need on exam day, including tool usage (Falco, OPA/Gatekeeper, Trivy, AppArmor, seccomp) and Kubernetes security primitives. Every question has a detailed explanation.

Six sets of 20 questions cover the full exam scope. The first set is free.

Topics covered include:

  • Network policies and pod security standards
  • RBAC hardening and least-privilege service accounts
  • Image scanning and supply chain verification
  • Seccomp and AppArmor profiles
  • Falco rules and runtime threat detection
  • Admission controllers and OPA/Gatekeeper
  • etcd encryption at rest

Why practice matters for CKS

The CKS moves fast and covers a wide surface area. Many candidates find the tooling (Falco syntax, Trivy flags, OPA Rego basics) is what trips them up, not Kubernetes itself. These practice questions surface those gaps early so you can focus your study time where it counts.
