๐กTips & Tricks
The Google Cloud Digital Leader (CDL) certification is Google Cloud's foundational credential. It validates that you understand what cloud computing is, how Google Cloud products and services support digital transformation, and how organizations use the cloud to modernize infrastructure, unlock value from data, innovate with AI, and operate securely at scale. It sits alongside AWS Cloud Practitioner and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals as the natural first step into a vendor's certification path.
The exam is aimed at anyone who works with or alongside cloud teams, including business leaders, project managers, sales and pre-sales staff, analysts, and engineers who are new to Google Cloud. No hands-on technical experience is required. Topics include cloud economics and the shift from CapEx to OpEx, Google's global infrastructure, data products such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Spanner, and Looker, AI and machine learning options from pre-trained APIs to Vertex AI and Gemini, migration and modernization paths with Compute Engine, GKE, and Cloud Run, the shared responsibility model and Zero Trust security, and financial governance and SRE practices.
Candidates have 90 minutes to answer approximately 50 to 60 multiple-choice and multiple-select questions. The exam is delivered online with a remote proctor or at a testing center. Google does not publish a passing score, but community reports place it around 70 percent. The certification is valid for three years and the exam costs USD 99 in most regions.
Practice questions matter because the Cloud Digital Leader exam is scenario-driven. Most questions describe a business problem and ask which Google Cloud product, approach, or principle best fits. Knowing product names is not enough; you have to recognise the trade-offs between similar options such as Cloud SQL and Spanner, or Cloud Run and GKE.
Our 25 question sets cover all six official domains in proportion to their real weightings. Every question includes a detailed explanation of why the correct answer is right and why the others are wrong, so you build genuine understanding rather than memorising answers. The first set is completely free and requires no account to get started.
